Death of Constance Elizabeth Naon

Ridgway admitted he felt guilty about killing “Connie” Naon, “because she was beautiful.” Born to Helen Dexter in 1962, details about her childhood are unavailable, but it is known that she became involved in sex work and had another job at a sausage factory.

She was addicted to cocaine and her habit ate away at her finances. On June 8, 1983, she called her boyfriend to say that she was coming to visit and would be there in 20 minutes. She never arrived.

South of SeaTac Airport, Connie’s remains would be found on October 27, 1983. It was two weeks before her 21st birthday.

Ridgway told detectives that Connie had angered him because she wouldn’t let him touch her breasts. After she was killed, he had bitten her breast.

At Ridgway’s trial, Helen gave a statement.

“I don’t know how to describe the pain inside. There’s no words for it. I believe that, had the investigations gone right in the last 20 years, many of us would not be in this court today.”
