Carrie Ann Rois (February 15, 1968 – May 31 – June 15, 1983) was a teenager who was murdered by Gary Ridgway in possibly SeaTac or Auburn, Washington on May 31 – June 15, 1983. She was Ridgway’s thirtieth known murder victim.
Background
Carrie was born on February 15, 1968 in California, but she moved to Washington at some point in her life. Details about her early childhood are unavailable. As she grew older, Carrie began telling people she was being abused at home. She also ran away frequently.
For unknown reasons, Carrie would be placed in numerous group homes. She got along with everyone on these homes. She dreamed of becoming a model. She was in her schools marching band, where she played the flute. She was known to have became involved in sex work just weeks before her disappearance.
Disappearance
Carrie was last seen between May 31 and June 15, 1983. The true location of her disappearance is unknown, but she was known to frequent SeaTac, Washington, on Pacific Highway South.
Discovery
Carrie’s remains were discovered on March 10, 1985 in Auburn, Washington, near Star Lake Road. Her cause of death couldn’t be determined, but her case was deemed a homicide.
Aftermath
Carrie was connected to the Green River killings on March 6, 1984, along with Carol Christensen. After her remains were discovered in 1985, she was added to the list of the killer’s victims.
It wouldn’t be until 2001 when her killer, Gary Ridgway, would be apprehended. He was convicted of Carrie’s murder, along with the murders of forty-eight other women.
