Cheryl Lee Wims (May 23, 1964 – May 23, 1983) was a young woman who was murdered by Gary Ridgway in Seattle or SeaTac, Washington on May 23, 1983. She was Ridgway’s twenty-eighth known murder victim.

Cheryl was born on May 23, 1964 in Washington. Details about her childhood are unavailable, but as she grew older, she began using drugs. She was working at a Seattle restaurant as a busgirl.
Disappearance
Cheryl was last seen on May 23, 1983, her eighteenth birthday, in Seattle, Washington. It’s unknown what happened to her afterward, but she may have traveled to Pacific Highway South.
Discovery
Cheryl’s remains were discovered north of the SeaTac airport on March 22, 1984. Her remains were found during a search after the remains of Wendy Stephens were recovered in the same area. Her cause of death couldn’t be determined, but her case was deemed a homicide.
Aftermath
Cheryl wasn’t connected to the Green River killings before her remains were found, but she was connected to the murders soon after her remains were recovered.
Chery’s sister, Deborah, disappeared on October 25, 1990. She was also believed to be a victim of the Green River Killer. Her remains were never found, but she remains a suspected victim.
It wouldn’t be until 2001 that her killer, Gary Ridgway, would be apprehended. He was convicted of Cheryl’s murder, along with the murders of forty-eight other women. He denied murdering Deborah, though police believe he may be lying.
